Vimy 1917 May 27 cont
Our heavy artillery showed more than normal activity during
the past 24 hours, but effect on enemy wire was very limited.
Our Lewis Guns and Brigade Machine Guns were active.
Snipers were active with a most noticeable decrease in hos-
tile sniping. At 8.30 am. ?? Gadd killed a Hun at T. 1. c.95.95
Observer Sergt C. Murray. At 10 am Sergn. R. F. Parkinson. At 10.30 Sergt.
C. Murray accouted for a Hun Staff Officer Observer Sergt.
H. Lee. Our rifle grenades effectively stopped Trench Mortar
fire directed on our block in vicinity of CYRIL C.T.
Last evening and this afternoon our aeroplanes carried
on the usual reconnaisance work. At 8pm last night
one of our machines was attacked by enemy planes over
enemy line, was hit, but returned to our lines under
control. Late yesterday afternoon hostile
light artillery bombarded heavily for ten minutes the?
