Place -- Date -- Hour -- Summary of Events and Information Remarks and references to Appendices

Front Line 1917 Ap. 26 cont
night were in charge of officers and advanced as far as
Lacollette, as far as would permit. The enemy wire
on our front remains practically undamaged, ex-
cept to some extent on our right front where there are
a couple of passages through it. The conclusion
revealed by our patrols is that the enemy front line
has been abandoned save for Machine Gun ports.
Further reference will be made to verify this at dawn
today.

do 27 New front line received attention of working parties
last night & progress reported. Practice barrage this
am. 5-15 covered whole front of Batt. and results
were good. The enemy retaliation scored some direct
hits on our trenches, but there were no casualties.
We have fairly well established the fact that the machine
guns covering our position are located in the Railway
Embankment and also that the enemy hold the
Electric Power Station in force

The following order was received from 12th Cn. Inf.
Bde. Hdqrs.

It is essential that touch be kept with the enemy.
