HAUTE Aveanes 12 Pay Parade and Kit Inspection in morning. Half-holiday in afternoon. Weather Fine. RBO'S

do 13 R.C. Church Parade at 9.00 a.m. Protestant Church Parade at 10.00 a.m. Weather Fine. RBO'S

do 14 Battalion making preparations to proceed into line. Reinforcements 127. Weather wet. RBO'S

do 15. Tranport moved off at 7.30 a.m. Battalion moved off in full marching order at 11.00 a.m.
(starting point E.28.c.50.95). Proceeded to AGNEZ LES DUISSANS arriving at 12.00 noon. Had
dinner at C.C.R.C. Entrained at 1.45. Arrived at MARQUOIN at 9.00 p.m. and marched to
SAUCHY LESTREE. B.H.Q. at W.5.b.35.60. Some Hun shells fell around SAUCHY LESTREE and
near Canal Crossing in afternoon and evening. RBO'S

Weather cloudy. Divisional Reserve. RBO'S

do 18 Battalion moved off at 10.00 a.m. full marching order. Surplus baggage left in store at
Sauchy Lestree. Halted for dinner at R.21.b.50.95. Moved into village at 2.30. Battalion
Headquarters at R.15.b.d.21.b. in AUBENCHEL-AU-BEC. Weather Fine. RBO'S

AUBENCHEL AU-BEC 19 Preparing to move. Party of 160 O.R.'s and 4 N.C.O.'s cleaning up obstacles in streets.
Battalion moved off at 3.00 p.m.full marching order, via FRESAIN and MONCHCOURT, arriving
at EMERCHICOURT at 6.00 p.m. B.H.Q. in Chateau. Rained heavily all night. RBO'S

EMERCHICOURT 20 Left Emerchicourt at 10.30 a.m. and arrived in MASTAING at 12.30. B.H.Q. in
Church Parochial School. Weather dull. Foot examination by Medical Officer. RBO'S

MASTAING 21 Commanding Officer holds conference of Company Commanders in Headquaraers Mess at 9.30 a.m.
Company Inspection 11.00 a.m. C.O. inspects billets at 11.00 a.m. Few civilians in town.
Orders to move at 4.30 p.m. cancelled. Mayor of MASTAING returned to his home after absence
of four years. He asked for a French Newspaper. Was Guest of Officers to dinner. Weather dull. RBO'S
