CHATEAU DE LA HAIE 1918 Jan 6
Colonel Edwards, D.S.O., C.O. returned from leave. Church
parades held. Weather:- cold throughout. RBO'S

do 7 Early in morning detail of officers proceeded to look over
new portion of line to which it was expected the Batt
would next be assigned, returning in evening.
Weather:- much milder. RBO'S

do 8 Oper. Order no 2 issued. Weather:- heavy snow fall
in forenoon with low temperature. Very cold in afternoon RBO'S

do 9 As per Oper. Order no 2. Batt. received the 54th Canadian
Infantry Battalion in the Front Line. Right Sub-sector
MERICOURT SECTOR. Very cold forenoon with deep snow
on ground. Became milder in late afternoon with thaw. RBO'S

MERICOURT SECTOR 10 Batt. under command of Major English, the C.O. being
at Brigade as A/Brigadier. Transport Lines were
moved in forenoon to BOIS CAMP. NEUVILLE St. VAAST.
Weather soft with water running on roads at 10.30 am
In the Front Line there were occasional snow flurries
with wind NW. Our artillery and machine guns
active. Enemy artillery & machine guns also active. RBO'S

do 11 Fighting Patrol with protective Patrol returned at
previous midnight. No enemy was sighted and
no machine gun activity while patrol was out
