Front Line 1917 June 27 6 pm
our artillery covered in connection with report on operations.
Enemy showed activity against LA COULOTTE support
line & LA COULOTTE village, also some fire distributed on
IRISH TRENCH, CLARK & CYRIL C.T.s. Maching Gun & Rifle
fire active at intervals from buildings in AVION. Their
aircraft activity was below normal, tho' one enemy
aeroplane flew over our lines a few minutes prior to
ZERO hour this morning. In the advance of this
Batt today to QUEBEC and KIRK trenches, enemy parties
were encountered in the captured area, it now being
established that the enemy has retired to AVION
MARICOURT Line. Our artillery has been continuously
active during the past twenty four hours. Brigade Machine
gun fire was normal but our aircraft very busy. Their
artillery was active during the night, but quiet on this front
today. They also used some gas shells. Their machine
