spected by Gen. Nelson. German aeroplanes very active. Huns scored our own of our batteries. Very cold. -- RBOS

Villers-au-Bois -- 1917 Feb 5 -- -- Batt. moves up to trenches at Vimy Ridge. Bright & cold. Major Parkinson returned from leave. Had breakfast at Savoy Hotel, London and arrived in trenches at Vimy Ridge in time for dinner. The 38th the only batt. paid. Cold. -- RBOS
Trenches -- 1917 Feb 6 -- -- Batt. in trenches at Vimy Ridge. Artillery active. Bright & cold. British aeroplane compelled to alight in vicinity of Tramsport-Lines after fight with 2 Germans. -- RBOS
