Academical Department, which, our motion, was referred
Messn, Keith, Miller and Aikin, as a committee to report then on.
Our motion, adjourned to 9 o'clock tomorrow morning.

Wednesday, August, 6, 1845,
Met pursuant to adjournment, Present as yesterday,
together with Rev. James Hoge D.D. and, Prof. Mathew Vice Prest.
The committee upon Prof. Williams' communication
reported, recommending the adoption of certain Resolutions,
which after being amended were concurred in as
follows:

Resolved that the arrangements for the organization
of the academical Department adopted at the called
meeting of the Board in April last be amended and
modified as follows;

1. That during the period the Collegiate Department
may be suspended, the principal of the Academical Depart=
ment shall conduct the business of instruction, in con=
formity with the Bylaw (underlined) and Regulations of the University
heretofore adopted so far as the same may be applicable.

2. That at the end of each year, and oftener if requested
he shall report to the Board, showing the condition of the
Institution- the number and progress of pupils do.

3. That he shall be authorized to everyday such assistants
as he may deem necessary, subject to the supervision of
the Board, whose compensation shall be paid out
of the tuition received from students, all of which shall
be paid to him, together with the sum of six hundred
dollars, ($600) heretofore appropriated, and no more from
the permanent annual income of the University.

4. That he shall be authorized, as soon as he may deem
it expedient, to open an English and high school department
in which shall be taught such practical and useful bran=
ches as may be thought proper.

5. That the Board or acting committee shall attend,
or procuse the attendance of other suitable persons at the
annual and other examinations of the Institution.

6. Students of good character and habits may be permitted
to occupy Rooms in the College buildings by the payment for now
per term of $2.00 in the central and $1.50 in the wing buildings,
to be applied to repairs, improvements.

7. That the expenses of incidental repair & keeping
