PREAMBLE We, the Negro students of Ohio University, do hereby establish the club LOS AMIGOS to provide social and spiritual activities, cultural and intellectual advancement for its membership and for any person, regardless of race, color or creed, so desiring to enter the ranks of this organization. ARTICLE I MEMBERSHIP Section 1. Any person regardless of race, creed, or color, who will accept whole-heartedly the provisions set forth in the articles and sections of this Constitution and in its By-Laws, and who will pledge to protect and to uphold them to the best of his ability, shall be eligible for membership. ARTICLE II OFFICERS Section 1. The Officers of this club shall be a President, a Vice-President, a Secretary, and a Treasurer, who are elected to serve his office for one (1) year, or until their successors are elected and qualified (as so deemed by decision of the assembly). ARTICLE III EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE Section 1. The officers of this club and the chairmen of the standing committees shall constitute a Board of Directors for the transaction of business. ARTICLE IV ANNUAL MEETINGS Section 1. The last meeting appended for the month of June shall be designated "Annual Meeting". This meeting shall be for the election of new officers of the club, for the hearing and resolution of annual reports from the social and fiscal officers, and for the payment of final dues.
ARTICLE V AMENDMENT Section 1. This Constitution may be amended by a majority vote at a regular meeting, provided that notice of such amendment shall have been given at a previous meeting and appended to call for that date. The amendments, whereupon accepted, shall be entered in the minutes of the meeting by the secretary and included in the main body of the original constitution.
The following rules shall constitute the By-Laws of this organization and shall govern in all cases wherein they do not conflict with the provisions set forth in the main body of the Constitution.
