Antoine Verard was the single most important
publisher in Paris in the late 15th C. He
was active between 1485 + 1512, + in this time
produced some 250 imprints. He was the 1st in
Paris to print a Book of Homs. Apart from his
Books of Homs, almost all of Verard's publishing
was of vernacular texts, usually illustrated c
woodcuts.

- Oresme's translations of the Nicomachean Ethics
+ the Politics are the 1st extant complete translations
of Aristotelian Texts in a modern language.
Oresme's French version of the Politics is based
on the translation from Greek into Latin by William
of Moerbeke dating from about 1270. No longer
considered an Aristotelian work, the Economics
has a complex history. The Economics centers on
the econonmic management of the household + family
relationships. The Yconomique is the shortest of the
