Ludwig Konig had to seek permission first to print the
rabbinical Bible + then hire the Jewish correctors
necessary for such a complex project. The actual printing
began between the mid August + mid-September of 1618.
The probable date of completion was sometime between
July 12 + Aug. 10 of 1619. Abraham Braunschweig
was the chief printer. Johannes Buxtorf I served as
regular professor of Hebrew language at the Univ. of Basel
from 1590 until his death in 1629.
