Johannes Hamman (Hertzog) - the first
production of Hamman as an independent
printer after his association c H. Liechtenstein
in 1492 was the Chartres Breviary completed
on 7 Nov. 1486. In 1487 he was in partnership
c Emericus, but in 1488 again printed alone,
and so continued to 1500.

Institutiones - the 3rd part of the Corpus juris civilis, the
Institutes were conceived as an introductory manual that
would provide a concise + clearly arranged outline of
the law: Written by a commission of 3 under the
direction of Tribonian + largely based on Gaius' 2nd
century Commentarii institutionum, the work
contributed to serve for centuries as the elementary
text c which students began their studies of
Roman law.
