The many millions of Chinese Muslims who used
Arabic script, at least for liturgical purposes
usually adopted style that were current
in Afghanistan, with slight modification. In
addition to these, they evolved a special script
called Sini (Chinese) with very fine lines +
exaggerated roundness which they used mostly on
their ceramic + chinaware. A purely ornamental
style was derived from Sini which retained its
roundness, but was easily distinguished by its very
thick + almost triangular verticals + its comparatively
thin horizontal lines.
