In 1791 Isaac Collins in N.J. who had in
1788 published a New Testament, brought out
an ed. of the Bible noted for its scrupulous
printing accuracy. Only 1 broken letters + one
wrong punctuation mark crept in; his
careful reading of the proofs 11 tiems paid off.
- On Sept. 12, 1792, 2 years after Trenton became the
state capital, the New-Jersey State Gazette was
launched by Mathias Day in silent parnership with
George F. Hopkins.
