Paris: Gilles Hardouyn for Germain: Hardouyn,
1520-25.
Bifolium on vellum, leaves 53 (Hii) + 58 8^0.
30 lines, 12.3 x20.3 cm. (each leaf) ruled in red.
One + 2 lien liquid gold initials on alternating red +
blue grounds. Text ruled by hand. Lettres batardes.

Psalm 27 (26) + Deus Deus meus

20 lines = 92-3mm.
In purpose + format, pritned Books of Hours followed the
older MSS examples. The more luxurious specimines were
pritned on vellum, the cheaper ones on paper: both types
contained the same prayers + devotions + followed the
traditional scheme of illustration established in MSS copies.
The brothers Germain + Gilles Hardouin produced
almost as many examples as Vostre + Pigouchet.

Germain Hardouyn - 1500-1541. (?son or brother) (1522-38)
Each printed alone as well as together.
