C. Clair - Silber worked at Rome from 1480 until 1509. He was a
native of Winzburg + on account of his origin was sometimes
called Franck Alemenus. At first Silber printed mainly
Lumanistic works but also later his outpost included guide
books for pilgrims to the Holy City, manuels of
acclesiastical law + indulgences. He was the 1st printer
to obtain a privilege from the Roman Curia.
