Haebler The 1st book produced by Johann de Spira is the earlier
of 2 editions of Cicero, Epistolae ad amiliarus both finished
in 1469 beofre 18 Nov. Johann died while engaged in
printing the Augustinus completed in 1470 by his brother
Vindelinus, + the latter carried on the press probably
until the summer of 1473. He is then not heard from
again until the end of 1476.

produced the Familia Letters of Cicero, the Natural History of
Pliny, the 1st vol. of the Roman History of Livy, + were [inserted] $5,800 (1977) [end inserted]
busy upon St. Augustine's City of God. (4th book printed in Venice)
Wendelin - assoc. to John from the beginning. He completed the
4 books then in press + matured ground plans for an
enlargement of the business. To carry out these plans
