signify Conquest, Slaughter, Dearth and Death.

their paper. Apart from the short-lived paper mill of John
Tate of Stwenage (1495-8) no paper seems to have been
manufactured in England on my substantial scale until
John spilman started his mill at Dartford in Kant
about 1589.
