Bishop lists only 4 copies in America some of which are imperfect
Richard Faques - printer (1509-1530) first printed new publication - a
news book - 12 pages - 1 woodcut on front page
7 1/2x5" - summary of the contents: "Hereafter ensue
the true encomnter or battle lately done between England +
Scotland in wich the Scottish King was slain.'

(1504-9) William Faques - his business passed to Richard Faques, who
was doubtless a relation, + who is found at the sign of the
Maiden's Head in St. Paul's Churchyard in 1509. In that year
he printed Guielmus de Salicets's Salus corporis, salus
amime. 1521 - moved to the ABC in St. Paul's Churchyard
last dated book - Mymour of Our Lady - a devotional, issued
at the expense of the Lady Abbess of Syon Monestery* [inserted] * a religious commientary new Isleworth on the Thames [end inserted] +
dated 1530. A portion of this book only, the 3rd part, relating
to masses is in the Brit. Museum. It was printed in
black letter (114mm) with large double pica for the opening
works of cash sections, + roman Type for quotations. A
copy of the complete work is in the John Rylands Library
+ contains many curious woodcuts + initial letters.
printed 1509 30 R. Faques - device - a shield hanging from a large arrow struck
upright in the ground. This shield has as supporters 2
unicorns.
