Dear Sir,
I have been very pleased to be
able to help you in some
small way by filling in the
enclosed questionnaire. Unfortunately
in the Walcharen Island
invasion about 5 months after
I was knocked unconcious and
suffered from loss of memory
afterwards but I still can
recall quite a few D Day incidents,
let us say it was the "Day of My Life."
I have a [illegible] in my possesion
of my landing craft landing at
"St. Auban Sant Mar", taken by a
camera attached to the end of
the landing barge. (There is also
an intresting story to tell about
how the barge was sunk on
returning from the beach & how
the camera was saved.) I also
have a roll of honour issued
by the Admiralty in recognition
of the work done by our Flotilla.
If you wish, perhaps we could
arrange a meeting so that I
could show you the photograph
& Roll of Honor which may be of
some use to you.
[illegible] [illegible] of my [illegible] cooperation
Yours Faithfully
J.E. Winter
