Dear Mr. Ryan,

I would like to thank you for your very kind letter
of 22nd July.

I do hope that my contribution will add, in some small
way,to the success of your forthcoming book, and, in due course,
I shall take very great pleasure in reading it; even though you
may have had to delete my contribution by then!!

I thoroughly enjoyed talking over the experiences of that
famous day with you, and I was most interested to learn that you
had contacted the man who fired the torpedo which sank us.

You will remember that when we were talking you said you
would try and find the address of the Norwegian steward who
wrote to you from Germany. I would be very grateful if you could
forward this address to me, as I would like to write to him.

Once again many thanks for your letter and may success attend
your efforts.

Yours sincerely,
Desmond Lloyd
(Desmond C.F. Lloyd)
