Dear Miss Ward:

Enclosed is the questionnaire which you
forwarded with your letter of July 23. I have
answered the questions rather sketchily and
am supplementing it with a copy of a talk which
I gave to a Rotary Club soon after returning
from service. Scattered through it are observa-
tions which Mr. Ryan may find helpful.

I have a lot of source material in my
possession pertaining to the activities on D-Day
and if Mr. Ryan wishes to visit me I shall be
glad to go over it with him.

I am gone quite a bit but if Mr. Ryan will
get in touch with me a few days in advance of
his coming, I am sure we could agree on a mutu-
ally convenient time.
