Did you by any chance keep a diary of what happened to you that day? NO
Were any of your friends killed or wounded either during Handing or during the day? YES

Do you remember what it was like--that is, do you remember whether you felt any pain or were so surprised that you felt nothing? N/A
Do you remember seeing or hearing anything that seems funny now, even though it may not have seemed funny at the time? Yes, I recall on morning of 6 JUN 44, prior to embarking into small LCIs, the lineup for substantial rum ration, and the antics of non-drinkers when faced with the alternative of drinking same before leaving deck. Also recall suggestions on various personnel re keeping cigarettes dry during dash through water to beach.
Do you recall any incident, sad or heroic or simply memorable, which struck you more than anything else? YES, although seeing a lot of dead and wounded Canadians and Germans, recall most sad incident being a lone signalman with signal set strapped to back, aerial extended overhead, lying isolated on hill brown with head on arms , in exact position when killed by bullet, appearing alive and in action. This signalman having died so peacefully seemed incongruous amid so much violence.
