David Mitchell & Phebe his wife went in the Boat to-day, intending to go as far as Auburn on a visit. Left his Money & Keys of his trunk.

The weather continues dry & warm. The top of ground is dry & dusty. Rain is much wanted. Our Cistern is out of water. The want of it is troublesome.

Whale Fishery
According to the Nantucket Inquirer there arrived into the different Ports in the U-States during the month of May last - 21 Ships, 8 Barks, 4 Brigs and one Schooner, bringing 33,165 barrels, or 1,41,862 Gals. [GALLONS] Sperm Oil and 27,960 barrels or 880,740 Gallons Whale Oil.

Rode out to the Lots & Shore.
The change of air was pleasant, but the weather was dry and warm, and caused the dust to raise which was troublesome. There has been very little rain within a month. The top of the ground appears very dry. The upland lots must be mowed soon to save the crop. The low land or meadow is still growing and bids fair for a good crop.
