On the 7th of this month mention is made of a Snow storm, which was the greatest we have had this winter. Since which the weahter has been very cold until to-day, the weather is now moderate, the Thurr. [THERMOMETER] at 34° to 36 and the wind easterly and looks likely for a storm.
The ground is covered with snow, the severity of the weather has prevented the Snow from melting. The harbour is covered with Ice so thick to enable to go on to it Eeling. The Ice extends out to the Bar Main - The Thurr. [THERMOMETER] has ranged during the time since the 7th inst. (to-day excepted) from 5° to 22°.

The rich people who are fond of the use of Ice have built an Ice house up by Maxey's [MAXCY] Pond, which cost 500 $ and will contain 300 Tons of Ice, and calculate to have it brought to their doors daily in warm weather.

Great talk among Ship Owners at this time of trying the experiment to have Wooden Camels to carry Ships over the Bar with their Cargos in fitted for Sea.
Peter F Ewer at present seems to be the leading character, he is now having small ones built to try the experiment, with full confidence that the Plan will succeed. Let it be proved.

There is much talk of having another Steam Boat (say No. 2) Subscribers are signing for the purpose. And have got it up to a large ammont [AMOUNT].

By some freak of the Law, Peter Ray is turned out of his house. His friends pitied the Old man, and bout [BOUGHT] another for him by subscription.
