Albemarle County In the Province of Carrolina } By the Governor and Lords deputies with the Rest of the honourable Councell of State To all persons Greeting in our Lord god Everlasting Whereas it sufficiently appeares unto us That Thomas Cooke of this County deceased left noe will, and Allexander Lillington Esqr and William Therrill both of this County Appeareing before us as near= =est Related to the Said deceased at A Grand Councell held for the County Aforesd on the 27th day of this Instant desireing order for Administration, on all and every the sd deceaseds Effec =ts, which was Accordingly Granted, wee doe therefore In observance of the Aforesd order hereby Impower the sd Allexander and the sd William both or Either of them, to Administer on all and Every the Estate, of the sd Estate Both Reall and personall of the sd Thomas Cooke deceased and, out, of the Same to Sattisfie and pay all His Just debts, Soe far forth as the sd Estate will Extend or Amount unto, and A true and Just Inventory of all and Every of the sd Estate which Shall Come to there or Either of their hands possession or Knowledge, Ap praised According to Law by Mr Robart west and Timothy Meeds, and the same Soe Appraised to Returne Into the Secrataries office within six weeks after the Receit hereof, and thereof to bee Accountable at any time when Legally thereto Required they Giving In Securyty and themselves for there Soe doeing Given under our hands and the Seale By and the Seale of the County this 29th day of March 1680 John Jenkins Anthony Slocum Robt Holden William Craford

Albemarle Know all men by these presents that wee Allexander Lillington William Therill and all of the County of Albemarle doe binde us and Every of us Jointly & and Severally our and Every of our heirs Exceccutors And Administrators to pay or Cause to bee paid unto his Excellency the pallatine and the Rest of the true and Absolute Lords pro= =prietors of this province of Carrolina or to there heirs and Successors the full and Just Sum & Quantitie of thirty thousand pounds of Currant Merchantable Tobacco, and Cask to Containe the Same payable upon forfeiture of the Condition hereunto annex'd In witnes hereof we have here unto Sett our hands and Seales this 29th day of March 1680

The Condition of this obligation is Such that Whereas the Above Bounden Allexander Lillington And William Therill haveing Received Letters of Administration upon the Estate of Thomas Cooke deceased, doe and shall well and truely performe what their in they are Injoyned, According to the tenor of the sd Commission, and shall Save and Keep the Court harmles and undempnified from all and Every person or persons that may or shall Lay Clame too or pretend Interest In the sd Estate of the said Thomas Cooke deceased duely Executeing and truely performing the office of Administrator to all Intents & Purposes as therein to them the sd Allexander Lillington and William Therill is granted that then this present obligation to bee Voide and of noe Effect, or else to Stand and bee In full force Effect and Vertue Sealed Signed and Delivered In } the presence of us }

[full page width] I The Subscriber do ee present In humble Mannor to the Grand Councell This as a True Inventory of the Estate of Edmund Chancey of the County Lately Deceased The Debts of the Estate I humbly Crave Leave to the Next Sessions of ye Grand Councell for presentment of them, and that to this Inventory Creditt they may bee Annexed November 8th 1680 I present this Inventory as Execcutrix of my husband lately Deceased vallentine Bird, who was whole Trustee of Edmund Chancey Will Margaret Bird The pettitionary part allowed for the Bringing In of the Debts Robert Holden Secratary Entered on Record this 29th day of November 1680

By the Honouruble Governor and Lords proprietors deputies with ye Everlasting, Where as it Suffitiently appears unto us that Edmond Chancey of this County deceased left A will, and the Management thereof, and trust of his sd Estate And Children, Commited to the Care of Capt Vallentine Bird of this County, who Since is deceased alsoe, And Mrs Margaret Culpeper, ye Rellict of the Said Bird deceased, haveing for Some Considerable time had the management of the Estate of the sd Chancey deceased Appeared before us at a grand Councell held the 25th day of march 1680 pretending a Clame as Exceccutrix of the Last will and testament of her deceased husband, & the Long and Carefull mannagement of the Estate of the sd Chancey deceased, desireing order for Administration on all and Every the sd deceaseds Estates, which was Accordingly Granted, wee doe therefore In observance of the Aforesd order of Court, hereby Impower the sd Margaret Culpeper to to Administer on all and Every the Estate both Reall and personall of the sd Edmond Chancey deceased and out of the Same, to Sattisfie and pay all his Just dues soe far forth as the sd Estate will Extend or Amount unto, and A true and Just Inventory of all and every the sd sstate, which did may or Shall Come to her hands possession or knowledge appraised according to law after Sworne by Sammuell davis Esqr William Nevell and John Dye apprisers, and the sd apprisement to bee returned to the next Courtt of the Grand Counsell helld for the County Aforesd, and thereof, and of Every part and persell thereof, to bee accomp =table at any time when legally thereto Required She giving in Suffitient Securytie by Thomas Gordone Morgan Rice - - - - and her Selfe for her Soe doeing Given under our hands and the Seale of the County this 29th day of March Anno Dom 1680 John Jenkins John willoughby Richard Foster Anthony Slocum Robart Holden

Know all men by these presents that wee Margaret Culpeper Thomas Gordone & Morgan Rice [crossed out] of the County of albemarle In the province of Carolina doe owe and Stand Justly Indebted unto his Excellency the pallatine and the Rest of the true and Absolute Lords proprietors of the province Aforesd There heirs and Successors In the full and Just Sum and Quantetie of two hundred pounds of Curant lawfull Sterling Money of England to bee well and truly paid upon Forfeiture of the Condition hereunto annexed, to the which payment well and truly to bee made and done, wee binde us and every of us Jointly and Severally, our, and Every of our heirs Exceccutors and Administrators for the whole and In the whole firmly by these presents In witnes whereof wee have hereunto Set our hands and Seales this [space] day of [space] Anno Dom1680
