Camp June 12th 1781.
Sir
When I wrote Colo. Burton respecting a supply of
provisions being laid in at Harrisburg and that my
Gen'l Rendezvous was fixed at that place, I gave
order, should you be at Harrisburg, to open Burtons
letter, at that time I did not know what department
you [fell on?], you were at Harrisburg, and
I understood open'or the Letter, (and answer 'a
it to me) the Troops of the district of Halifax,
you cannot but know, or judge why they
were moved here the [Comp?] Stores bring in this
neighbourhood, and the scarcity of waggons
to transport provisions to Gen'l Rendezvous,
and it would give time for [strike - it being] convoyed
from other Co'tys? and, the [other?] district
troops were in motion, a collection
surficient might be stored. I shall march
from this for Harrisburg Thursday - the 14 Inst
and the several dystricts have orders
