To: BARKER, John B. (300-693) Mo.M.M.2c

Subj: Orders; temporary duty; travel

1. In accordance with DCGO/5ND/T 122050, you will proceed
to Norfolk, Va. and upon your arrival at that place you will report
to the District Coast Guard Officer, Fifth Naval District for brief
temporary duty. You will time your departure so as to arrive at the
District Office before 0900, 14 August, 1943. Upon completion of
this temporary duty you will return to Ocracoke, N. C. and resume
your regular status.

2. The travel necessary to the execution of this order may
be performed by privately owned conveyance, if so desired.

3. The travel necessary for the execution of this order is
required by the public interests. Allowances for subsistence and
quarters as prescribed by Article 248, Pay and Supply Instructions,
are applicable in this case.

4. The travel necessary for the execution of this order
will be charged against Norfolk District Symbol 05-20.

5. Departed 0600 this date.
