I might add that the State Board of Education who under our present
has
laws, [???] final authority in the Management of the,- to-be-developed, Durham
State Normal School for Negroes, has appointed a Board of Trustees to have
immediate control of the organization and conduct of the new school. The
personnel of this Board is as follows:

W. J. Brogdem, Chairman
J. B. mason
[crossed out W. D. Carmiehael]
N. C. Newbold
R. L. Flowers
The facts just stated mean that the board of trustees named above
must select a principal and faculty, determine upon salaries, standards, who
shall be admitted and the general policies of the Durham State Normal School.
