The objectives of the Fine Arts Department are to discover and develop the latent talent of studets for artistic expression and lay a foundation for careers as creative artists; to meet a growing demand for specially trained art teachers in public schools and colleges; to develop tastes and discriminations i[???] choice of materials used in everday life and to provide culture leading to more worthy use of leisure time.
The Department of Mathematics is designed to strengthen students in the basic fundamentals of mathematics in order that they may be adequately equipped for expression of interpreting quantitative ideas in this and related areas; to equip students whose interest and ability lead to further study, research, teaching, or other technical training which will need a mathematical background to develop a reasonable degree of skill, accuracy and speed in dealing in mathematical problems.
