Following the action by the General Assembly in 1921, members of the Division of Negro Education made an appeal to the General Educaion Board: "Would your officers be interseced in making available $100,000 to $150,000 to be used for all types of needed equipment in the proposed new buliding at the three teachers collages, so that all of the states half million dollar could be used for new bulidings." In a breif time, the officers of the Board had agreed to mak ea grant of $125,000 for equipment as requested. This sledid gift made possible a total of $625,000 for new bulidings and equipment for these three Nergo colleges.
