Manual Lima & G. de Cruz Assumcion were fighting the morning mate brought them aft to Master who got the cause. started calling names..got mad. Lima began by calling Da Cruz “Cask” Assumcion returning with filthy language. gave them advice & sent forward. 33-14 53-30
8th “Bertha” in sight...spoke her at 10-10 a.m., raised whales at 12-30 Capt. Joseph went on board let him have a man (A.P. Andrade) he being very short handed. mated & lowered three boats each. got one whale saw three chased off. Schr. Valkyria [7/14-9/16] came up and lowered three boats & (?)balled the job...hauled aback to windward of “Bertha” she having whale alongside.
