Native Bound Unbound: Archive of the Indigenous Enslaved There is no way to measure the impact of slavery upon the Indigenous people of the Americas. Yet, it is known that many millions of people were captured and bound, each life worth remembering. In spite of the fact that this history has been obscured, its imprints remain bound in archival documents, such as those in these collections. Each document records a piece of this story that shaped families and entire communities. The objective of Native Bound Unbound is to gather and creatively amplify these stories. The first step after collecting the documents that tell these stories is to transcribe them. This is where we need YOUR support. Please consider transcribing documents from this collection to help us in our goal of recovering the stories of the indigenous enslaved.
