This collection comprises records of paintings and drawings submitted to the Stationers’ Company for copyright protection between 1862 and 1912. The records are entry forms containing information about the creative works being submitted for copyright protection, with attached samples of those creative works. The details found in the entry forms include:

Description of work: Water colour drawing "Unsuccessful" size 18 x 11 in. Foreign fisher girl coming out of the sea, in her right hand she holds & also uses as a support a large shrimping net. In her left she holds a basket which she is dragging carelessly on the ground & showing it to be empty. Two fishing smacks in distance.

Description of work: Water colour drawing "Going Home" size 15 x 10 in. Fisher girl walking along the sand at the edge of sea. She carries a basket on her back, out of which hangs a net. It is supported on her left should by a long stick. Both her hands are grasping same. Boats in distance.

Description of work: Water colour drawing "Tired of Waiting" size 17⅜ x 11 in. Two fish girls at the edge of the sea looking for the first glimpse of the expected boat, they have a large basket between them, the nearest figure holds the handle and is pushing a net into the basket with her right hand. Her companion has the other handle and over her shoulder she carries a long pole with a net attached.

Two girls on the sea shore conversing, the nearer of the two is seated on a basket, at her feet she has another one in which she is placing a net just washed.
