I'm not sure whether my transcription of the sentence 'Aine of French Republic' is correct!

I would probably go with "time of French Republic". The first letter is very similar to the t in Tiff, while capital As are rounded. Not sure what the meaning is - it doesn't sound like a political cartoon - maybe a description of costumes?

Thanks so much - this makes much more sense!
