and peaceful look, which in spite of time and of
sorrows a well spent, useful Christian life must
give, perhaps surrounded by her children, perhaps
a prim old maid (I would hope the former) looking
over the pages of this very book, now half blinded
by her [???] as she thinks of the loved and lost,
now smiling through them as some long-forgotten
scene is brought to her mind. Well, Harty, if
it should be so, when you think of me, forget
all my faults, my waywardness, my angry or
unkind words and looks, and remember only that
I loved you with as true, as earnest a love
as ever one sister bore to another.

I have finished one term of my school, twelve
whole weeks, had quite a visit from Mr Bartlete
on the last day (s he thought that my scholars
recited very well, but their orders might be
improved) and am now enjoying a vacation-
How I do enjoy it!!!! It is almost like freedom
after being enslaved- it is like stretching
oneself, after having for a long time remained
in a most cramped and confined position -
I can hardly tell what it is'nt like that is good
and pleasant. Yesterday I did a little drawing,
a good deal of seeding [???] toward Thanksgiving,
some practicing, and went to meeting in the evening
