The undersigned Committee appointed by the
Trustees of Mount Auburn Cemetery at their first
meeting for the current year "to report at an adjourned
meeting on any vacancies now existing in the officers of
this corporation, and a general plan defining the duties
of the present and future officers"
also, "to consider the expediency of establishing a
Standing Committee of three on grounds, avenues,
and paths, and to define the duties and powers of
such committee" - have attended to the duty
assigned them, and submit the following report:

First - They recommend that Jonathan Mann be
appointed to fill the office of Assistant Superintendent of
Mount Auburnwith a salary of $600 whose duty it shall beunder the Superintendent to have the
immediate charge of the workmen, and see that they faithfully
perform the work assigned them, and to do such other duties as
the Trustees, through their Superintendent, shall direct.

Second. Notwithstanding the faithful and official
services rendered to the Corporation for a series of yearsby the present incumbent,
circumstances occurred at the late annual meetaings, much
to the regret of your Committee, which under it manifest
that it is the expectation of a large portion of the proprietors
thet the office of Secretary be filled by another person for
the ensuing year; therefore in order to produce harmony
and the best interests of the corporation, your committee
recommend that this office be filled by the election o
ofAustin J. Coolidge Esq.
