Dear Sir
With reference to our
conversation yesterday
I wish to add that I
do not care to have the
marble cleaned, but
should like to have the
slabs fixed on the base
as firmly as possible
they will not stand unless
the water is kept out
& my own idea is that it
is better to lead them-
If a long dowel can be
put in & then leaded I
should prefer this- I will leave
it to you to have them fixed
so that they will last forever
& regretting to have disturbed yr
nap I am very truly
