Dear Sir: -

I tried twice this afternoon to send you a message by
telephone, but was informed that the line was out of order.

The longest distance we can get for Dr. Putnam's grave
is 6' - 4", and as your box has not come I cannot tell if this will
do. If the box is longer I suppose you can make the interment
without it. Dr. Putnam arranged the space himself, and I have no
doubt knew the distance.
