Madam

Your note received. The
charge for planting myrtle is $7. for
each full size grave. The laurel
in the border was not done very well. The
trouble is not with the shrub however but
because there is too much shade and
any other shrub put in its place would
act in the same way. Still I would
not advise cutting any of the trees as
that would be much more of a sacrifice
than there would be gain in having a shrub
in the border.

Dear Madam

I have examined into
the matter of your order for care of
the Emmons lot #852 and find that
on May 12th [18]80 you gave a signed order
to the gardener which reads "Care of lot until
counter manded." And in accordance with
it the lot was cared for 1880 & 81 as attested
by the returns from the foreman and
workman. I see no reason why the bill
should not be paid. The order is on file at
this office & can be seen by you at anytime.

The foreman reports that no grave enclosure has been
removed from the lot to his knowledge.

very respectfully
