Saml. T. Snow Esq
Chair. Comm. on Lots.
Dear Sir
The amount expended the
past five years for surveying and engineering are
in 1869 | $1187.46 | In 1871 | $1765.04 | In 1873 | $748.63 |
1870 | 2245.37 | 1872 | 1381.15 | ||
Total | $7327.65 | in five years or | $1465.53 pr year. |
I can get a good & competent man for $1000, and
perhaps less, who will supply his own instruments.
(viz. a level & a transit.)
There would be the additional expense of say $175
to cover the labor of a man to assist at times &
drawing paper &c.
I think I am safe in promising that the average
expense shall at least no more, while we shall
have the benefit of a man here at all times
who will keep up our plans & assist in making
sales when desired
Yours very truly
J. W. Lovering
