Mount Auburn Cemetery,
Office of Supt,
Mt. Auburn
Dear Sir,
In reply to your
letter of asking on what terms
the Corp. will undertake to build a tomb
for Mr. J.C. Bucknam on his [Lot 4215|[lots 4215]]
& 4216 Hazel Dell (the stone &c for which
are now on the ground,) I would reply,
that we will be prepared to build the tomb
by the day; charging $3.00 per day each
for each man of the mason's gang of 4 men, or
for the derrick; and $2.50 per day each, for
each man of the grading gang;
We would use our best
masons or as good as we have, but could
give only one half of John M Day's time;
and if neessary to hire bricklayers from
outside would charge you 10 per cent advance
on their cost to us.
We would furnish brick, foundation-
stone, lime and cement at 10 per cent advance
