stances I thought it right to
submit the matter for your
action before making any con-
tract with him.

The prices I have
named to him are our regular
rates, as near as possible, for
jobbers or "the trade" about 10%
lower or from 5 to 10 per cent
lower on labor, gravel, loam, manure
& sods, than our regular rates to
proprietors, but on brick,
lime & cement no lower.

Mr. Mann would
like an answer this week,
as he has to make arrange-
ments of some kind pretty soon
