My dear Sir,

Your note of yesterday with accompanying
papers was recd today between 1 and 2 o'clock, so that
it would be impossible for me to redraft the paper on
the Repair Fund in the manner suggested by you in season
for the next meeting of the Trustees - on Monday morning.
Indeed when I saw you two days since, I understood
& thought it was agreed, that, such were your and my
engagements, the matter should stand for some time longer.

However, if I quote the vote of the Trustees on this, you
will see that it need not be brought before the Board
again.

"Voted that the Secretary, under the direction of the
Committee on Lots, be authorized to send a printed circular
to every proprietor of a lot in the Cemetery, in accordance
with the previous vote."

The previous vote referred to was the acceptance of
the report of your Com. through Mr Norcross, recommending
that the Proprietors ^should be made acquainted with the subject
by sending a printed notice.

The power, therefore, over the whole matter is
rested with your Com.ee. The vote does not
limit the Com. as to the cost. Nor does it conflict
with the by-law limiting a Com. to $100 in any ex-
