That the amount of the bill is $85.50; Of this nearly three fourths is for Granite Posts & Sods; which are the latter are obtained [?] side of the Ceme tery, & are charged at 3 cts per square foot, after being carted to the place & laid; This is the same price which was charged for them upwards of 20 years ago.-

For the accommodation of Proprietors, it has been for some time the practice for the Superintendent to keep a supply of Posts of different dimensions & qualities from which Proprietors make their Selections. - The Superintendent has [?]- [?] to the Commee some of the bills paid by him for posts; For [?] of 12 inches, he has charged Mr Nazro^the cost & 75 cts. each for transportation & Setting; for [?] of 16 inches octagon, for gateposts, he by accident charged no more than cost. - This to be observed that at the meeting of the Comee, Mr Nazro

Mr Nazro's principles objection was for the charge for grading lot & furnishing & carting loam, $16 - and half a cord of manure $4 -

The Superintendent exhibited to the Comee his original memorandum book, in which he made the original entries for the work done for Mr Nazro & others. - The charges are for 10 Loads Loam & carting 75 cts a load^$7.50; - 4 loads gravel 50 cts $2.00 - 4 1/2 days work grading &c - $1.50 a day $6.75 total $16.25; carried out $16. - Mr Mann states that Mr Nazro's^Lot required all the loam &c, which was used, to raise it to the level & fit it in the manner he directed; -

Your Commee's conclusion cannot perceive that the bill rendered by the Super intendent "was annually high" as Mr Nazro thereby it is - was indeed [does?] any items of it appear overcharged.

Two of of Your Commee have devoted much time to their investigation. Mr Nazro states that he thinks it to be for the interest of Mt Auburn that charges should be made as low or lower than the work could be done for^ [?] outside parties; He did not profess to know much about it personally, but from inquiries made of others, he was satisfied that the work could have been done much cheaper. The Commee cannot agree to the proposition that work should be done at a lower rate than by outside parties; - They think that the Proper should be served at the cost of the work; not less.
