The committee on lots to whom was referred a communication from Jon.a Mann, Supt. addressed to the Trustees of Mount Auburn Cemetery, in reference to the mode of Keeping the records of interments at the Cemetery, respectfully

Report

That they have reassessed the records referred to, as now kept, and after having fully considered the subject referred to them, are of opinon that the liability to inaccuracy in the records will be much diminished by some change in the system. - They would therefore recommend that the records of interments should continue to be kept at the Cemetery, but that the superintendent be authorized and directed to number the lots when selected by any person proposing to purchase, and to place on such lot or lots a broad stake on which shall be painted in legible figures the number he has applied to said lot or lots. - He shall also be directed to issue to the person who has selected a lot, a certificate in form according to the copy herewithto appended.
