Comee on Petition of E. Hook 1853.

The Committee on Lots ask have to report - that they have visited the Cemetery & examined into the subjects referred to them & they are of opinion that Lot No 1917 on Sorel Path, containing 600 feet, may be divided into two lots of 300 feet each - one which shall retain the present number, & the other shall receive a new number; - That to affect this object, the Commee suggest that Mr Hook the present owner of the lot of 600 feet be permitted to transfer the same to the Corporation & receive new Deeds in the names of each persons as he may direct; his paying $20 to the Treasurer on this exchange;-

port that in their opinion it is important to permit Jno A Munroe & And. Stewart labourers employed in the Cemetery, to purchase Nos small lots^on terms mentioned in the letter of the Superintendent without requiring them to pay the usual as any [since?] for choice money; -

The Commee further report that they have agreed with Messrs Tisdale & [Hawkins?], a consideration of the [sum?] of $1500 to be paid to the Corporation, that the Corporation will undertake the care & preservation of the grounds & monuments & appertenances there to - of those gentlemen according to their letter dated Decr 8, 1852 -

On September 20th 1852 I purchased a double lot No 1917 at Mount Auburn, of J.W. Edmunds Esq, containing 600 ft.

I am now desirous of cancelling that deed, and having it conveyed back in two seperate lots, one to me, and one to Frederick Clapp of Boston

The additional expense of which I am willing to pay
