Voted, – that the subject be referred to Mr. N. J. Bradlee,
to report at the next Meeting.

Successors of Joseph Carew.

The Secretary reported that in obedience to the vote adopted
at the last meeting he had duly notified the successor in business
of Mr. Joseph Carew in accordance with the terms thereof, and
had received an assurance that upon the settlement of Mr. Carew's
affairs, the matter would receive due attention.

No other business being presented, the meeting

The regular monthly Meeting of the Trustees was held
on Wednesday, , at half past Three o'clock P.M.

Present, the President & Messrs Austin J. T. Bradlee,
N. J. Bradlee, Brewer, Norcross, Rand and Turner.

The record of the last Meeting was read and approved.

Com. on birds Their Report on Petition of W. F. Shaw

A Report was received from Dr. Brewer in behalf of the
Committee, (Messrs Brewer and Rand,) appointed ,
"to consider the expediency of the protection, encouragement and
introduction of birds within the Cemetery", (IV = 305), to whom was
referred the communiction of Mr. W. F. Shaw relative to the intro-
duction of cherry trees and other trees likely to attract birds to the
Cemetery precincts. The Report was adverse to the introduction
of the cherry tree for reasons stated; favored the introduction of
other trees and shrubs as more attractive to birds, and less ob-
jectionable as well as more ornamental, and closed with a
