Mr Norcross, for the Committee to which
was referred the recommendations of the Proprietors
adopted at the Annual Meeting, read the
Report of said Committee, of which the following
is a copy: _

"Boston April 2, 1870.

To the Board of Trustees	}
of Mount Auburn Cemetery.	}

The Committee to
whom was referred the recommendations of the Pro-
prietors made at the last annual meeting, and
the papers connected therewith, for investigation
and examination, make the following Report.

After careful consideration, they recommend the
following amendment to the By-laws: _

Amend^t of By-law Art. 3. Officers _

Article 3: Strike out all after the word
"Trustee" in the third line of the last clause of said
article, as printed on the 20^th page of the catalogue
of the year 1867, and insert the following: _

Compensation _

And
neither the Superintendent, Gate Keeper, nor any paid
officer or servant of the Corporation shall have
any interest in, or receive any compensation
whatever, direct or indirect for any work designed
for the Cemetery, or for any lot or lots therein,
or for materials furnished for the same in any
manner whatsoever.
