Adoption of the foregoing Report _

It was then

Voted that the report be adopted, and that
the Board proceed to designate by lot the terms from which
the several members of the Board shall serve.

Term of each member of the Board drawn for by lot _

It being determined to regard the vacancy occasioned
by the death of Mr Chas. C. Little as one to be filled at
the next election by the choice of a new member for
the term of six years, one ballot was prepared with the year
1870 thereupon, and two each with the years 1871, 1872,
1873, 1874 and 1875. _

Mr Bowditch was designated a
Committee to superintend the drawing and declare the
result. The ballots were closely folded, put into
a hat, shaken up, and borne to the President to be
drawn out by him. It was agreed that each ballot
as drawn should be applied to each trustee in the order
in which his name stood on the alphabetical list
of Trustees.
