Trustees _ .

The regular monthly meeting of the
Trustees was held on Tuesday, ,
at 10 o'clock a.m.

There were present, the President, Messrs
Austin, Bowditch, Cheever, Livermore,
Lovejoy, Norcross, Rand and Read. _

The record of the last meeting was
read and approved. _

Com. on Intermts asked further time _

The Committee on Interments to which
was referred the qustion of the expediency of
charging any land fee in cases of second interments
in the public lots, asked further time.

Superintendt under direction of Com. on Grounds to make extensive Removal of Trees _

The President urged the importance of
making an extensive removal of trees in the Cemetery;
and on motion by Mr Bowditch the following
preamble and vote were adopted: _

"Whereas the
growth of trees in Mount Auburn has become
'detrimental and inconvenient' to the Cemetery by in-
volving a considerable part of the same in a dense
shade, obstructing the views, excluding the sun in
many places and thereby killing the grass and
preventing the cultivation of flowers, _ It is

Voted that the Superintendent be instructed,
under the direction of the Committee on Grounds,
